Deputy Chief Adjuster (Reinsurance) £Negotiable

Reporting to the Chief Adjuster. The main purpose of the role is to directly support the Chief Adjuster (CA) to manage and improve the team performance through the development of trained and high performing team members. Key accountabilities include: Reading and analysing reports and claim submissions; Determining coverage; Setting strategy in conjunction with Leaders and external experts; Agreeing reserves for indemnity, fees and cost; Handling claims in coverage litigation, arbitration and mediation; Reviewing and agreeing fee invoices presented within authority levels; Ultimately deciding on the outcome of the claim; Communicating with the Chief Adjuster, Colleagues, Brokers, placing Brokers,(re)insured’s and experts; Participating in meetings, conference calls, site visits and ongoing communication with the following market; Managing complex direct reporting cases and circulate information to the market; Positively engage in and champion new initiatives. Required Skills and Experience includes: A comprehensive knowledge of the London and world wide market practices and procedures; Credibility and strong relationships with London and world wide Insurance market professionals; Knowledge and understanding of the national and main international legal systems relevant to the class of business handled by the department and a high degree of independent judgement for decision making and problem solving.

Senior Claims Adjuster (Reinsurance) - £Negotiable

Reporting to the Chief Adjuster, the key accountabilities of the role include: Reading and analysing reports to ensure a thorough understanding of all aspects of the claim submission; Validating data and where required obtaining any additional information to clarify prior data submissions and where necessary correct inaccuracies; Identifying questionable and / potentially non-compliant data and initiating prompt actions to correct / resolve independency; Determine coverage in conjunction with leaders and / or followers / and / or appointed experts; Setting strategy in conjunction with Leaders and external experts; Agreeing reserves for indemnity, fees and costs in conjunction with leaders; Handling claims in coverage litigation, arbitration and mediation under the supervision of the Chief Adjuster; Reviewing and agreeing fee invoices with leaders and subject to any agreed authority limit; Ultimately manage the claim such that the correct outcome is achieved; Communicating with Colleagues, Claims Adjuster, Broker, Placing Brokers, (re)insured’s and experts; Participating in meetings, conference calls, site visits and ongoing communications with the Following Market; Managing complex direct reporting cases and circulating information to the market; Positively engaging in and prompting new initiatives, including the Diary System, Customer Forums and Delegated Claims Adjusting; Acting as a technical point of reference for less experienced team members. Underwriting Trainee – to £Neg

Our client has an opening for an analytical individual who has acquired a Law degree with a strong Property element and completed their LPC, and who now has the desire to train and succeed within the insurance industry. Ideally you will have post graduation experience within a legal environment dealing with Property and / or conveyancing related issues. Within this role you will be trained to underwrite specific types of risks under delegated authority arrangements and in accordance with company procedures, drafting and issuing associated documentation and managing customer and insurer relationships accordingly.

Agency Operations Manager – to £77,000

General Insurance subsidiary of an International Ins/Reinsurer, has an opening for an individual with a general insurance background and experience and understanding of the operation and business model of Agencies, coupled with the ability to identify and interpret features and trends in data.  As part of the Agency Operations team, you will be responsible for making recommendations to proceed with proposed new agencies and subsequently ensuring that new Agencies comply with the company’s requirements in their operating procedures / processes, whilst managing ongoing relationships for selected large agencies relating to compliance with company standards.  In addition to these  tasks, you would also be responsible for continuously developing the operational aspects of the company manual and acting as ‘trouble shooter’ as required from time to time.

Associate Claims Adjuster – Energy – to £Neg

An opportunity for an individual who has a grounding within Energy Insurance, gained either as a Claims Technician or trainee Adjuster, to move into an Associate role.  The role will involve adjusting and processing claims within authority level on the CLASS system, while receiving mentoring and guidance as part of ongoing development. An opportunity has arisen to join the London office of a highly regarded International Insurer. Claims Counsel / Claims Adjuster – to c£65,000

Our client, a leading Lloyd’s syndicate, has a requirement for an experienced Claims Adjuster to join an established team, handling a portfolio of lead and follow Professional Indemnity, Directors & Officers and Financial Institutions claims. Specific responsibilities will include:- Adjusting claims from first advice through to settlement via a paper file or ECF or Class as applicable; Undertaking the management of a number of large losses including maintaining all relevant reporting criteria in order to meet corporate claims objectives and targets; Providing value and insight to the relevant Claims Management, Underwriters and Actuaries in respect of claims issues. Attendance at weekly underwriting meetings, monthly and quarterly actuarial meetings and assisting the relevant Claims Manager in the collation of data, production of reports and any other ad hoc requests. Underwriting Assistant / Assistant Underwriter – Credit & Political Risks – to £35,000

Various levels of experience are being considered in relation to this role which forms part of a leading Credit & Political Risks team. Technical Reinsurance Claims Assistant - to £28k

Working as part of a Claims Support Unit within this leading Insurance Group, the purpose of this role is to provide technical and administrative support to the Property & Specialty Reinsurance claims team, contributing to the delivery and achievement of team objectives. Approximately 30 to 50% will be spent handling “Triage 3” claims, which are expected to be claims with limited technical issues within this part of the portfolio. This role will be closely aligned to the Property Re/Specialty Re team, however it will require involvement and back up support to the other Reinsurance Claims teams. Candidates will preferably have technical reinsurance claims experience and progression towards completion of CII qualification. Required skills include: Intermediate Microsoft / database skills with view for further training; Organisational, verbal and written communication, numerical accuracy and time management; Ability to work independently as well as part of a wider team and excellent attention to detail.

Life Insurance Underwriter - London – £Competitive

Our client, a highly regarded and leading Lloyd’s Syndicate has an opening for an experienced Underwriter to join their Life Underwriting team. Based predominantly in Lloyd’s the main purpose of the role is the Underwriting of Individual and Group Life business in accordance with individual underwriting authorities. Key Accountabilities include: Assisting in the development of the Life Insurance proposition and supporting philosophies; Working with the wider team to develop medical underwriting skills; Developing and maintaining relationships with Brokers, Coverholders and Clients to best serve the interests of the organisation; Assisting with the training and development of junior members of the team and Responsibility for a number of binding authorities, collation of supporting information and delivery of monitoring as required. Ideal experience will have been gained in Scheme and Medical underwriting, however, experience in either of these specialist areas will also be considered. Our client is ideally seeking an ACII qualified individual (or someone working towards) with strong experience and knowledge of Employers Liability, Public Liability, Disease and Product losses gained either in a similar environment, or alternatively within the legal sector (English Law Legal Executive, Solicitor or Paralegal). You will be well versed in Civil Procedure rules and MOJ Reforms and be able to examine evidence (including medical) as well as negotiate liability and quantum with solicitors. Property insurance experience would also be useful, but not essential.  The role will involve adjusting claims within individual designated authority limit and assisting in the technical management and control of a claims portfolio, providing a prompt and efficient service to the market, ensuring validity of claim payments and adequate reserving.

Our client is looking for a Financial Controller to join their Romford office on a 12 month fixed term contract basis. Required Skills and Experience includes: Extensive practical experience of the Broking market; Fully conversant with the FSA CASS 5 rules; Demonstrable, up to date compliance and regulatory knowledge and capability; Full understanding of exposure linked to funding and uncollected brokerage, i.e. Understand how the control framework operates and is proactive in prevention as well as recovery; Understanding of uncorrelated cash; Broad understanding of the Insurance network and how the Broker fits into that network; Have worked within a robust regulatory and operational control framework in other organisations. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual, experienced within Compliance in an Asset Management environment to undertake a varied role, reporting to the Head of Legal & Compliance. The scope of the role is broad and covers compliance tasks such as undertaking compliance assessments, preparation of reports, writing policies and procedures, broker communication, supervision and training of employees.  This role could suit an individual currently carrying out a similar independent role, or possibly someone looking to make the next step up into something of this nature.  Essential experience includes a working knowledge of investment types (e.g. equities, fixed income, derivatives), a broad range of investment fund products and UCITS regulations – specifically investment guidelines/restrictions. Reporting to the Chief Adjuster or Deputy Chief Adjuster. The main purpose of the role is to adjust and process CAF, Peer Review and Non Peer Review claims presented within their authority levels on the CLASS system. Associate Claims Adjusters will receive mentoring and guidance from a Senior Adjuster as part of their ongoing development. Sales Executive Insurance Software - to £100k

An opportunity has arisen for an individual with an in depth understanding of the US Insurance market place and who is self-driven and focused on the successful delivery of results. Specifically, the role is responsible for identifying, leading, managing and closing large Insurance software deals. The Sales Executive will be dedicated to Insurance Product offerings within the UK to the Company’s General and London Market Insurance target customers. Key responsibilities include: Sales of existing insurance software products; Cross selling and extending offerings to include the wider Technology Services portfolio (hosting, applications management, BPO); Leading and driving a go to market campaign for Insurance Software products; Responsible for cradle to grave sales (i.e. lead generation through to signed contracts). This is a new business role, but does demand elements of account management going forward. The ideal candidate must have an excellent track record, with proof of leading and closing large software deals and be able to demonstrate success in managing major accounts customers and large software contracts. An articulate and genuine sales developer with an ideal background in large software sales deals which are Enterprise wide. Experience of leading and winning big RFI tenders would also be useful. Desirable skills include familiarity with newer platform technologies such as SOA, BPM, Enterprise Portals, Rules Based Systems, EAI and Messaging, and Workflow.

Key requirements of the role include: Knowledge of Company and Lloyd’s Market Insurance industry standard applications (with experience of underwriting and reinsurance platforms also Exposure modelling and aggregation tools); Strong Project Management experience with familiarity of PRINCE2 and/or PMP processes; Good understanding of software delivery life cycle methods, experience of their implementation and operational support frameworks ideally including knowledge of ITIL and/or CMMI disciplines; Strong Leadership skills coupled with excellent person management skills; Strong Customer Relationship skills, effective in working with customers at all levels; Ability to manage local and remote support teams in an outsourced model and ability to liaise with technical experts from other disciplines and to acquire knowledge of unfamiliar applications quickly.
